E-Cigarette Direct Responds to Phillip Morris Lawsuit with Comic Video
Making light of a lawsuit filed against them, E-Cigarette Direct.com released a comic video about their use of the Letter "M".

July 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To make light of the current lawsuit filed by Phillip Morris against the company, E-CigaretteDirect.com's creative team has released a comic video.

The video was made using XtraNormal Video Software and depicts a lady speaking to a "Marlboro Man" big tobacco representative.

The lawsuit claims that E-CigaretteDirect has infringed upon Marlboro's trademark M. The video pokes light of the fact that Phillip Morris (known as the Marlboro Man in the video) has objected to the use of the 13th letter in the alphabet on the E-cigaretteDirect.com website, claiming that it is part of their trademark.

E-CigaretteDirect.com has used the letter M to describe their Marlboro like e-liquid nicotine flavor that is similar to the taste of a Marlboro cigarette. The e-liquid flavor is called M'boro and has received rave reviews from users of the e-liquid. Lawyers for Phillip Morris claim that M'Boro is protected under Marlboro's trademark since the company "merely removed the letters "a", "r", and "l" and inserted an apostrophe".

Gina King, brand manager for E-CigaretteDirect.com, responded "that statement alone should be a dismissal of the case".

Ms. King also stated "We are having a lot of fun with this and _aking the best of it. The office is trying not to use the offending letter "M" in our e_ails and chats to each other. It _akes for a creative at_osphere. We're still s_iling, despite being sued".

The company's creative team has also proposed several alternatives to the eliquid name that have been posted on their electronic cigarette blog. "Our favorites have been the pictures of the burros". M'boro, My Burro, oroblraM, L'Boro, Boro Boro, and just Boro.
